Don't give up

 

Whenever you feel beaten down, consider this man;

Born into poverty, faced with defeat throughout his life. He lost eight elections, twice failed in business and suffered a nervous breakdown.

He could have quit many times – but he didn’t 

 

His family was forced out of their home. He had to work to support them 

His mother died.

Failed in business.

Ran for state legislature – lost.

Also lost his job – wanted to go to law school but couldn’t get in.

Borrowed some money from a friend to begin a business and by the end of the year he was       bankrupt. He spent the next 17 years of his life paying off this debt.

Ran for state legislature again – won.

Was engaged to be married, sweetheart died and his heart was broken.

Had a total nervous breakdown and was in bed for six months.

Sought to become speaker of the state legislature – defeated.

Sought to become elector – defeated.

Ran for Congress – lost.

Ran for Congress again – this time he won – went to Washington and did a good job.

Ran for re-election to Congress – lost.

Sought the job of land officer in his home state – rejected.

Ran for Senate of the United States – lost.

Sought the Vice-Presidential nomination at his party’s national convention – got less than 100 votes.

Ran for U.S. Senate again – again he lost.

Elected president of the United States.

        With this record of failure, think of how many people the world over have been inspired by this man who signed his name simply;   A. Lincoln.

Who are the real "Extremists"?

 We have heard both sides calling the other extreme. The Democrats have labelled the Republicans; Extremist, The Taliban, Enemies of the State, Nazis, Terrorists, Jihadists, and a host of other vile, despicable, and not remotely true names, So I pose the question, Who are the "Extremists"?

First let's define our terms; An extremist, means someone far out of the mainstream. Someone whose ideas, goals, and associations are far to either the left or the right. So let's begin by examining what both parties stand for this election year as expressed by their own words, deeds, and actions.

The Democrats;

Rabid hatred of Trump; It was the sole theme of the DNC. It has permeated their every thought nd speech for three years.

Raising Taxes: Again for 3 years they have promised to repeal the Trump tax cuts, effecting a large increase in taxes for the vast majority of taxpayers

Open borders: They have consistently stood against the border wall, or any enforcement measure for legal immigration, Again using the most vile language to ascribe the motivations of a populace that overwhelmingly polls in favor of legal immigration enforcement, and against illegal immigration.

Socialism: The party has openly embraced Socialism/Marxism/Progressivism/Statism. All of which stand athwart the stream of history, having proven themselves, time and again, abject failures. 

Redistribution: One of their recurring themes is taking from the rich to give to everyone else. This presumes; 

    a.) The death of private property, To quote Grover Cleveland; I can not partake to lay my finger upon that Article which authorizes the government to take the fruits of one man's labors, to give to another, unearned. Redistribution, presumes that the government not only knows better than you how to earn and spend your money, but also, has the right to enforce their whims.

    b.) The death of individual success When the government chooses to penalize success, and reward failure, or mediocrity, America will enjoy vastly more failure, and lose success completely.

    c.) The supremacy of the State over the individual What makes america great is that it is the first country in the world's history founded on the rights of man. The supremacy of the individual, over the State. The constitution is the first of it's kind to curtail the powers of the state, and recognize that the individual obtained his rights from God, and no state may take them from him, except through his own failure(crime, etc).

Overwhelming debt, They have promised free college, free healthcare, free housing, Universal basic income, etc. Obviously nothing is free, and all this must be paid for, or otherwise it will make slaves of the providers. You can not have a RIGHT, to something that someone else must provide. That simply enslaves the provider. The only way to attempt to provide these things is to incur astronomical debt. The very practice that destroyed the Weimar Republic in 1938, and Venezuela in 2016. This pernicious act has taken the wealthiest nations on earth and destroyed them utterly.

Banning Guns While many Dems will not admit this openly many have, Dianne Feinstein did, and Beto O'Rourke. Joe Biden made Beto his gun czar, and Beto's constant refrain is he is coming for your guns. Athough he promises this will be done by Executive Order, which would be illegal, and Anti Constitutional.

The Republicans;

Limited government Although so far they have failed miserably at this, it has been THE first plank of every party platform since the '60's. It is enshrined in the Constitution, and at one time was considered so mainstream no one ever thought about it.

Streamlining regulation Again another constitutional presumption. Unelected bureaucrats with the power to write regulations which carry the force of law, and penalties akin to criminal penalties, was never foreseen as possible in the limited form of government espoused by the Constitution.

Limited Spending Again a topic of abject failure for Republicans  However another ideal enshrined in our Founding

Equality of opportunity Again a staple of the party platform for decades, The founding documents do not guarantee equality of result, but equality of opportunity, Instead of promising free stuff, remove the roadblocks.

No identity politics instead of black policies, hispanic policies, LGBTQ policies, We need American policies.

Now comparing the two platforms enumerated above The Republican hews closest to the Founding documents and mainstream political thought. The Democrat platform, hews closest to theories and ideals against which we fought two world wars, and a 70 year cold war.

Which are the true extremists?

It is time the FBI designates the Democrat party a "Hate Group"

The FBI defines a "hate Group" as follows;

"A hate group is a social group that advocates and practices hatred, hostility, or violence towards members of a race, ethnicity, nation, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation or any other designated sector of society."

Clearly the rabid daily explosions of hatred from the Democrats in Washington, their mouthpieces in the media, and their activists on social media far surpass this banal definition.

When President Obama exhorts his Latino supporters; "When they bring a knife, we bring a gun"

When Georgetown Prof. Carol Christine Fair tweeted during the hearings on the Kavanaugh smear that Republican Senators on the Judiciary Committee,

"All of them deserve miserable deaths while feminists laugh as they take their last gasps. Bonus: we castrate their corpses and feed them to swine? Yes."

When CNN compared Trump supporters to ISIS beheaders

When Maxine Waters Tells Democrats to confront Trump admin officials when they are seen in public. "Get in their faces" Harass them, shame them.

When Actor Alec Baldwin urged a television audience of approximately three million viewers to murder Congressman Henry Hyde

When Liberal activists are indicted/ arrested for threatening to kill Rep. Diane Black , Shooting Rep. Steve Scalise, Threatening the daughters of  Rep. Jason Lewis. Threatened to kill Sen. Rand Paul with an axe. Or another who actually beat Paul. Or being arrested at the offices of Rep. Lee Zeldin threatening to kill Trump supporters.

When A top spokesman for the Tennessee Democratic Party's effort to get Phil Bredesen elected senator has said he views "white male" gun owners as "the biggest terrorist organization on the planet."

When Democrat activists show up at Sen. McConnells home yelling "stab the mother*** in the heart", and "Kill the Mother***"

When Democrats refer to Republicans as; "The Taliban, Hostage takers, Racists, Bigots, Homophobes, White Nationalists, White Supremacists" That is doing nothing but spreading hate.

And these are but a very few of the daily comments from the Left spewing hatred for anyone who disagrees with their ideology. This is actively encouraged by the Democrats in Washington, cheered on by the Democrat media. Defended and justified by the Democrat Academia.

If this were done by any other group, the "Hate Group" designation would already have been made. It is beyond time for both sides to be treated by the same set of standards.

Petulant Children(Democrats) refuse to acknowledge reality

The utter hypocrisy, and lack of intelligence on display last week has been appalling. The "protesters" claim to be protesting Fascism, while using Nazi Brownshirt tactics to do so. They proclaim that President Trump will be intolerant of opposing views, while themselves being intolerant of the will of the people. they claim to stand for womens rights, while refusing to acknowledge that Trump has been pro-choice long before Obama or Hillary "evolved" on the subject. They claim to be worried about LGBT and gay marriage, Trump has long been accepting of gay marriage, even stating it is "settled law". They claim to be worried about Trump being a racist, while ignoring that Trump opened his club in Florida to Black and Jews for the first time. Yes, racists do that, right?

The fact of the matter is that it is the Democrats who while preaching tolerance and diversity, lose their minds at the first hint of  diversity of thought, and can not accept even the slightest tolerance of ideas with which they disagree. These Neo Fascisti, would make Mussolini smile. They brag about using the organs of State power to stifle dissent. They use the IRS to "go after" Conservative groups. They use the IRS to audit their enemies. They decry conservative ideology as "hate speech" demanding "safe spaces" lest their precious snowflake sensibilities be damaged, by hearing a thought disagreeable to their pre programmed thoughts.

Since I began this letter, a number of examples of even more appalling conduct has occurred.  The outrageous hijacking of the Kavanaugh hearings, the violent rhetoric over the border wall, and Trump in general. The Left is now openly showing how unhinged they have become, not to mention their utter lack of knowledge of their jobs under the Constitution.

Paul Krugman is an idiot, part 5.

In Paul's recent homily to deficit spending, he proves for the 64,388th time that he is less an economist than a pundit. Chief mouthpiece for the propaganda ministry of the Democrat party. This was the man decrying deficit spending under the spendthrift Bush, but laud's double the rate of deficit spending under Obama. No honesty or integrity in sight, but let's address his latest example of shameless posterior licking.

Essentially Paul thinks we would be stupid not to borrow, at the Federal level, for such necessities as "infrastructure", education, energy, wastewater treatment, bike paths, who knows. And his reasoning is that interest rates are so low that borrowing is cheap., Yes, Paul, in that you are correct. However, we are already $19.45T in debt, with deficits rising faster than our record revenues, due largely to Obama's spending orgy and Democrats hypocritical willful ignorance of it. In other words, our debt is 106%of GDP, and on top of that spending is outpacing income. In a sane world this is the very definition of Bankruptcy. However Paul had written in the past about his grand plan to mint a $1T Platinum coin to alleviate this, where exactly did this hack get an education?

Now, Paul, in your household, if your debt were 106% of income, and your annual spending 131% of income, how would it possibly make sense to borrow more low rates or not?

Perhaps, if this borrowed monies were to be invested in income producing assets, but that is not what government does, and it does nothing efficiently. Your idea is for Obama who began his tenure with $1T in borrowing for infrastructure(remember the shovel ready projects he later laughed about?) to end his tenure with another massive borrowing for the same wasteful black hole. Imagine that you get paid for spewing this lunacy.

Aside from the economic idiocy of this, you have forgotten, if you ever knew, about a little antiquated document called the Constitution. NONE of your spending projects are the responsibility of the Federal Government. This is part of the problem, when spending is conducted by political corruption and vote buying in Washington, it is not directed where it is needed to help the economy, but where it will buy the most votes. And the taxpayers are, as always, left holding the bill. It seems that you are hell bent upon turning the entire Federal governemt into a huge replica of the Ponzi scheme that is Social Security.

The speech Donald Trump SHOULD give

Good evening my fellow Americans,

NOT African- Americans or Hispanic- Americans, or Gay, LGBT, or other Americans, but ALL AMERICANS. We leave, and should leave that divisive, identity group politics to the Democrats, whose political playbook has been demonstrated to be "divide and conquer".

As Republicans we do not care about your race, ethnicity, sexual preference, or any other criteria that the Democrats use to divide us. We care about who you are and what you do. If you are a productive law abiding citizen you will have our blessing forever. If you are unable to be productive we will help you. We wish to return this country to the Founding principles that made America exceptional. Individual freedom and responsibility, freedom to make the choices how to live your life, where to live, what type of work to do, how  to spend your money, what health insurance to buy, what setting for your thermostat, etc. Unlike our opponents we do not seek to tell you how to live every facet of your life, in the misguided notion that we know better than you, what is best for you. We leave that smug, condescending elitism to the Democrats.

To the minority groups listening tonight, particularly American- Africans. The Democrat party has failed you, just look at their history. They enslaved you. They subjugated you. They oppressed you. They stole your heritage. They brought you Dred Scott, Plessy, Separate but equal, sitting in the back of the bus, They fought against your freedom. They fought against four civil rights acts before filibustering the Civil Rights act of 1964. They filibustered the Voting Rights act of 1965. They locked your kids into failing schools, robbing them of their future, they demonized you for straying from their plantation by applying diversity of  thought, and voting your interests. Dr. Martin Luther King had a dream.... of a color blind society where his kids could succeed by their own merits. He never embraced the Democrat mantra that you can not succeed without the democrats, herding you into inner city ghettos and exploiting your vote, while throwing you crumbs to placate you.

THE DEMOCRAT PARTY HAS FAILED YOU! for 150 YEARS THEY HAVE FAILED YOU OVER AND OVER AGAIN! Just look at the last 7 years under America's first black president. Black teenage unemployment in some areas of the country is over 44%. Black food stamp usage has increased by 58% under this president. Black poverty is at record levels. The incarceration gap has soared. And the National Urban League's "equality index" has found that the equality gap has increased. According to the Federal Reserve, while white households’ median wealth slightly increased from 2010 to 2013, Hispanic households’ net worth dropped 14 percent, while black net worth fell from $16,600 to $11,000 – a three-year drop of 34 percent.

Gross Domestic Product: The recession ended in June 2009. Obama’s recovery, according to the Joint Economic Committee, averaged an inflation-adjusted GDP growth of 2.2 percent over the next 25 quarters. The average recovery following post-1960 economic slowdowns, which lasted more than 12 months, is 3.9 percent, and under President Ronald Reagan it was 4.8 percent. President Obama will be the first president to reign over a recovery in which not a single year’s economy grew at least 3 percent.
Jobs: During this recovery, private-sector jobs grew 11.6 percent. According to the Congressional Joint Economic Committee., the private-sector job growth under the average recovery is 17.0 percent. Under Ronald Reagan, average job growth was 23.6 percent.
The national debt: When Obama entered the White House, the federal debt stood at $10 trillion. Federal debt, according to the summary tables in the last budget Obama submitted – which runs through Sept. 30, 2017 – will be over $20 trillion.
The reason the Reagan recovery and the Obama recovery are analogous is that, as Tavis Smiley put it, the “leading” economic “categories” were similar.
Under Reagan, unemployment peaked at 10.8 percent, under Obama at 10.0 percent. In the early ’80s under Reagan, inflation averaged 13.5 percent; under Obama, it’s been relatively tame. Under Reagan, prime interest rates hit 20.5 percent. So blaming the tepid Obama recovery on the “unprecedented” harsh numbers of so-called “Great Recession” he inherited won’t fly, despite the pass – and frequent praise – Obama gets from the media.

The fact is that blacks narrowed the employment, education, wealth, and equality gaps more in the period just before the Civil rights act from 1940-1960 than they have following it.

To America's minorities your interest lie with us. We will not tell you you can not succeed, or the deck is stacked against you. We will not tell you that you need the governments rule over you to push others out of the way. Because that favoritism today, will tomorrow be given to someone else while you are taken for granted, which is exactly what the democrats have done with blacks and hispanics over the last 40 years as once they had you in their fold, they forgot you and shifted attention to their new preferred victim class. Notice that they ALWAYS require a new class of victims, they do not empower and lift you up, they tear you down and tell you that you are unable to succeed without them. THE TIME FOR THIS TO STOP IS NOW!!!

Republicans want you to succeed. We want you to have the best education possible. We want you to be able  to choose your school, choose your health insurance, choose your home, choose your work. We want you to throw off the Democrat shackles, and rise to the level of your own abilities. That is the only way to achieve a vibrant, successful, progressive America. Government is not  the solution, it is the problem.

The Constitution does not guarantee equality of results. it guarantees equality of opportunity. what you do with that opportunity is up to you. Your lifes path will be dictated by the choices you make. If you choose to knock over a convenience store, and charge the cop and wrestle with him for his gun, it is not the cops fault, you chose an action that may result in your death. If you choose to apply yourself to your studies, and get an education, you can become President of these United States. The choices are your own, as are the consequences. Do not blame others for the choices you make.

America was founded upon the principle that you could live your life as you choose without governmental interference right up to the point you infringe upon another's right to  do the same. It was the first country in the world founded as such, and this is what produced the most stunningly exceptional country on earth, the most stunningly successful country on earth. This belief was called LIBERALISM. Towards the end of the 19th century, the world descended into an orgiastic embrace of Marx theory of Socialism, Hence the rise of the Progressive movement, in America this movement's stated goal was to overcome Liberalism. Today this term has been thoroughly perverted. Today's classical Liberals are Libertarians and Constitutionalists, While the self proclaimed Liberals are more truly Progressive/Statists. YOU must decide, if you wish for FREEDOM, or SUBJUGATION. Do you wish to move back towards the right to live your life as you see fit, or to continue down the Democrat road towards ever more governmental regulations detailing every facet of your existence? This is the choice that faces you this  year. This is the burden that history is placing upon you today. YOU can choose to be the patriot who saved the American experiment in the sovereignty of man over state, or you can choose to be the Progressive/Statist who chose to kill that vision in favor of the feudal vision of the States rule over men.

Social Security the greatest theft in history!

In 1935 Congress implemented the Social Security act of 1934. This act mandated a tax on wages, ostensibly for a retirement program. However, the benefits are not guaranteed, but subject to the whims of Congress, as is the contribution rate. And Congress has been raiding the alleged trust fund since 1968 spending every excess dollar, not on income producing assets to shore up the system, but essentially to buy votes while self aggrandizing. They have replaced the monies they spent with pieces of paper they created solely for this purpose, the "Special class, NON MARKETABLE Treasury security". This is nothing more than an IOU. It says Congress spent your retirement and will raise the funds to repay it with taxes extorted from you, and your children at some later date.

Now flash forward to 1981, President Reagan entered office to find Social Security functionally bankrupt. during it's life span it had taken in just over $1.4 trillion, and paid out just over $1.6 trillion. Reagan did not leave the Seniors with nothing, he doubled the contribution rate, saving Social Security until 2009, when president Obama became the first president to partially defund social security. And the intellectual lightweights in the Democrat party cheered him for his "tax cut", evidently not realizing that this was not an income tax cut, but a cut of the sole funding mechanism for Social Security and Medicare. What was the result you ask? For the first time outlays exceeded income, and social security had to draw from the general fund, something it has been doing since.

Let's try a little math here to demonstrate how social security rips off the average worker;

Every wage earner must contribute 12.4% of their income to social security. half from their check, half matched by their employer. Lets take the average worker earning an average of $50,000/yr. over his 50 year working life. Every year he contributes $6,200.00 for a grand total of $310,000 over his working life. For this, currently social security will give him a poverty level retirement of $19,862/yr.

Now, lets say that the worker owned his retirement, and Congress was forbidden from stealing it. He would contribute the same $6,200/yr. and lets say he chose a very safe form of investment, tax free municipal bonds paying 3.5%. These are the types of bonds that fund libraries, roads, fire stations, schools, etc. At the end of his 50 year working life he would OWN a retirement nest egg of $823,640.23. This will provide a retirement income of $44,388/ yr. And he can leave the fund to his kids, helping them on their way. He has created wealth.

So, social security forces you to pay enough for a middle class retirement to achieve poverty status, in an inflationary retirement.
